BOSTON (Kyodo) The Boston Red Sox said Monday they have signed left-hander Hideki Okajima to a one-year contract.

“He gets a guaranteed $1.75 million. The deal includes incentives that could increase Okajima’s overall payout to $2.3 million, and a provision that allows Okajima to become a free agent after the 2011 season,” ESPN reported.

Okajima went 4-4 with a 4.50 ERA in 56 relief appearances for the Red Sox in 2010.
