GUANGZHOU, China (Kyodo) Ai Fukuhara and table tennis partner Kasumi Ishikawa fell in straight games to China's Ding Ning and Liu Shiwen, settling for the bronze medal in the women's doubles at the Asian Games on Friday.
Fukuhara-Ishikawa saw their bid to become the first Japanese duo to make the finals at the Asian Games since the 1974 Tehran Games end after an 11-8, 11-8, 11-5, 11-7 defeat at Guangzhou Gymnasium.
