HANNO, Saitama Pref. (Kyodo) Little-known Rikako Morita staged a stirring comeback by shooting a Japan LPGA Tour record-tying 10-under 62 to capture her first career title at the rain-shortened Hisako Higuchi Ladies on Sunday.

Morita began the day in a tie for 13th place but blitzed Musashigaoka Golf Course with 11 birdies against a lone bogey to finish at 11-under 133, four strokes clear of Chie Arimura and Australia's Tamie Durdin.

Morita ran off three straight birdies starting with a 25-foot putt on the second hole.

She also sank a monster birdie putt from 65 feet on the seventh green and went on to birdie the next three holes before adding four more over the last five holes.
