OSAKA (Kyodo) Keiji Tamada's injury-time free kick earned Nagoya Grampus a 1-0 win at Cerezo Osaka while Shonan Bellmare beat Vegalta Sendai by the same scoreline in the J. League on Sunday.

Victory for Grampus helped erase the disappointment of conceding in the dying embers of Wednesday's 1-0 defeat at Sanfrecce Hiroshima and lifted them into second place in the table.

Grampus, Urawa Reds and Kawasaki Frontale all have 16 points from eight games, two behind Shimizu S-Pulse, who won 2-1 at home to Omiya Ardija on Saturday.

"Late goals have cost us a few times in recent matches so it was nice for us to get one," said Nagoya boss Dragan Stojkovic. "The most important thing is that we scored and we won three points."
