VENLO, Netherlands (Kyodo) Midfielder Keisuke Honda scored twice to earn promoted VVV Venlo a 2-2 draw at home to nine-men ADO Den Haag in the Dutch first division on Sunday.

The visitors had taken control of the match through Wesley Verhoek and Ricky van den Bergh’s penalty with less than half an hour gone.

But Honda lashed home to reduce the arrears on 37 minutes and Venlo was given a boost when Karim Soltani was sent off shortly after the hour mark.

Venlo made its numerical advantage pay when Honda headed in the equalizer for his third goal in two games 13 minutes from time. Van den Bergh followed Soltani for an early bath when he was sent off in the late stages but Venlo was unable to make any further inroads.
