YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) Former Japan defender Naoki Matsuda cruelly denied holders Oita Trinita their first victory in 14 matches by snatching a last-gasp equalizer to give Yokohama F. Marinos a 3-3 draw in the Nabisco Cup on Saturday.

Koji Yamase's double had put Yokohama in control against an Oita side that had come into the game without a win in any competition since beating Kyoto Sanga 1-0 at home in the J. League on March 14.

Urawa Reds moved to the top of Group A on seven points from four games after goals from Yoshiya Nishizawa and Sergio Escudero earned a 2-0 home win over Albirex Niigata, while Sanfrecce Hiroshima were the day's big winners, Yosuke Kashiwagi scoring twice in a 7-0 thrashing of second-place Omiya Ardija.
