Minoru Tatsukawa is set to be appointed head coach of the Japan women's national team, while Tatsuya Ueta will remain in charge of the men's team, volleyball sources said Friday.

The Japan Volleyball Association made the decisions at a selection committee meeting Friday and could make a formal announcement on Monday, the sources said.

Tatsukawa, who is currently at the helm of the V. Premier League's Denso Airybees, led Unitika to the V. League title in 1995. He also served as a coach on the women's national team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
