Top seed Go Soeda rallied from a set down to capture his first singles title while Kimiko Krumm-Date completed a double at the national championships on Sunday.

Soeda went one better than his runnerup finish three years ago with a 6-7 (2-7), 6-3, 6-4 win over No. 4 seed Tatsuma Ito at Ariake Colosseum, before Krumm-Date partnered Rika Fujiwara to beat siblings Akiko and Tomoko Yonemura 6-3, 6-1, adding to the singles triumph she achieved Saturday.

The 38-year-old Krumm-Date, who returned to competitive tennis earlier this year after a 12-year absence, won both the national singles and doubles titles in the same year for the first time in her career.
