ROME – Italian Serie A side Siena is looking to sign Urawa Reds’ Japan international midfielder Makoto Hasebe, according to a report Saturday in the Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport. The report said Siena are aiming to bring the 23-year-old Hasebe to the Tuscany club in January and that owner Giovanni Lombardi Stronati has been in direct negotiations with Hasebe’s representatives, who are seeking a two-year deal. Siena made a move for Hasebe this past summer but negations with Urawa broke down, according to sources. Hasebe, who has been capped for Japan six times, has played in 26 of Urawa’s 29 league games so far this season.
