Japanese golfer Shingo Katayama, the money title winner of the country’s tour for the last three years, said Sunday he will not play in the upcoming British Open because of injuries. Katayama cited the back and right knee problems that have haunted him all year as the reason for his absence from the major tournament starting Thursday at Carnoustie, Scotland.
