Hiroshi Hayano will return for a second spell in charge of Yokohama F. Marinos after being appointed as new manager by the J. League first-division side Thursday.

Hayano guided Yokohama to its first J. League title in 1995 in his first year at the helm before going on to manage Gamba Osaka and Kashiwa Reysol.

Takashi Mizunuma, who took over following the resignation of Takeshi Okada in August, will return to his role as assistant coach.

Yokohama, which won back-to-back titles from 2003 under former Japan coach Okada, finished a disappointing ninth in the table for the second year in a row this season.
