Yuji Tsukada resigned as manager of Cerezo Osaka a day after the J-League club was relegated to the second division.

Tsukada, 48, took over from Shinji Kobayashi, who was sacked in April, but he was unable to turn the club’s fortunes around and offered his resignation Saturday after defeat to Kawasaki Frontale condemned Cerezo to the drop.
