Chinese world champion Zhang Yining won the women's singles without dropping a game at the Aioi Toyota Cup table tennis tournament Sunday, while Athens Olympic gold medalist Ryu Seung Min of South Korea edged Japan's Kaii Yoshida in the men's final.

Zhang dominated the field of eight Asian players, beating Japan's Sayaka Hirano 11-6, 11-8, 11-3 in a semifinal and South Korea's Kim Kyung Ah 11-3, 11-6, 11-3 in the final at Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium.

Japanese teenage star Ai Fukuhara lost 11-7, 11-9, 11-9 to Kim, bronze medal winner in Athens, in the other semifinal.

In the men's event, Ryu scraped past Yoshida 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 6-11, 12-10 in the final. Zhang and Ryu both earned $18,000 in prize money.
