Urawa Reds want Japan midfielder Shinji Ono to decide by the end of the year whether he will return to the J. League club from Dutch side Feyenoord after both sides failed to reach an agreement following talks in the Netherlands.

Feyenoord has accepted a bid from Urawa to retain the services of the injury-weary player but Ono is making the Saitama club play the waiting game as he is apparently still keen to continue plying his trade in Europe.

"It's true that Ono is still has a strong desire to play in Europe but Urawa are still in the picture," senior Urawa official Shuzo Nakamura told reporters after returning to Japan on Tuesday.
