SoftBank Hawks manager Sadaharu Oh said Sunday he is targeting Kansas City Royals right-hander Daniel J. Carrasco to bolster his roster of foreign pitchers next season.

The Pacific League team had originally hoped to add a left-handed foreign reliever but apparently has changed its plans. "I'm not sure if we're going to get a contract with him (Carrasco) yet, but we have him targeted," said Oh.

Carrasco, 28, made his major league debut with the Royals in 2003 and has posted a 14-15 record with a 4.81 ERA in 101 games over three seasons.
