Catcher Genki Nitta drove home the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning Sunday as Matsushita Electric Industrial beat NTT West 2-1 to win the national corporate baseball championship.
Nitta delivered the game-winning hit to deep center with two outs and a runner on second at Osaka Dome. Pitcher Takayuki Yamamoto was named the MVP of the tournament after posting two wins in three starts. He held NTT West to a run in 7-1/3 strong innings in the final.
