YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) Ai Miyazato stayed on course for her first major title on the Japanese women's tour Saturday as she shot a third-round 72 to take a six-stroke lead into the final round of the Japan Women's Open.

Miyazato made three birdies and as many bogeys in windy conditions at Totsuka Country Club on a day when only two players broke par, allowing the 20-year-old to increase her lead by two shots at 6-under-par 210 after three rounds.

Akiko Fukushima shot a 73 and stands alone in second at even-par 216, two strokes ahead of Yoko Inoue, who had a 76.
