Kenji Jojima hit a pair of homers and Lindsay Gulin limited the damage to a run in 6 2/3 innings of work for his third win in four starts as the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks defeated the Orix BlueWave 4-1 in the Pacific League on Tuesday.
Gulin (3-0) yielded 10 hits to the 29 batters he faced at Yahoo BB Stadium and needed 118 pitches in his outing in which he struck out six and walked one. Roosevelt Brown drove in the only run for the home team on a pinch hit RBI single in the seventh.
Jojima's two homers were off South Korean southpaw Koo Dae Sung (0-3) -- a solo shot in the second and a two-run homer in the seventh. Julio Zuleta also homered off Koo in the fifth.
