Yusuke Takahashi hit a three-run "sayonara" homer as Saibi High School of Ehime Prefecture edged Tohoku High School 7-6 in the quarterfinals of the national high school baseball invitational tournament on Friday.
First-time participant Saibi will meet Meitoku Gijuku of Kochi in the second game of the semifinals Saturday at Koshien Stadium in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture while Aichi Kodai Meiden of Aichi Prefecture will play Yashiro of Hyogo Prefecture in the first game.
