INZELL, Germany – Japan’s Takaharu Nakajima upstaged Dutchman Erben Wennemars in the 1,000-meter final to win his first World Cup title in Germany on Friday. Nakajima powered round the rink at Ludwig Schwabl Stadion in Inzell in 1 minute, 10.77 seconds to take first place ahead of World Sprint Championship 1,000 titlist Wennemars, who clocked 1:10.87. Beorn Nijenhuis of the Netherlands was third in 1:11.01.
