Overnight leader Michiko Hattori defeated South Korean Lee Ji Hee in a nail-biting playoff to win the Japan Women's Open for the second time on Sunday.

The 35-year-old Hattori, Women's Open winner in 1994, almost blew it with a bogey on the second playoff hole but landed the title after Lee somehow missed a routine par-saving putt on the 16th hole at Chiba Country Club's Noda Course.
