J. League first-division club JEF United Ichihara has acquired Brazilian midfielder Sandro Cardoso Dos Santos from South Korean side Suwon Bluewings, Ichihara officials said Friday.
The 22-year-old Dos Santos, a former Brazil under-21 international, joined Suwon in August 2000 and became the K. League's top scorer in the 2001 season with 17 goals in 33 matches.
Takahara departs
NARITA (Kyodo) Japan striker Naohiro Takahara vowed on Friday to quickly gain the confidence of his teammates as he departed to join German Bundesliga club Hamburg SV.
"I want to play my best so the other players will recognize my abilities," Takahara said at Narita airport, adding that he felt refreshed since he has relaxed some despite having to make a rushed departure after signing a two and a half year deal with Hamburg on Dec. 22.
