Police said Sunday they received an emergency call at around 2:45 p.m. that a car was on fire in a two-story parking area of a pachinko parlor in Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture, with the fire eventually spreading to more than 100 cars.

Police said a 62-year-old company employee who was using the parking area reported the fire.

It was put out at around 6:40 p.m., but the reinforced concrete garage was left severely damaged.

Police said no injuries were reported, according to NHK.

According to witness reports, the fire is likely to have originated from a car parked at around the center of the second floor, which can accommodate 157 vehicles, and spread throughout the floor, NHK reported.

Police and the fire department began investigating the cause of the fire on Monday.
