Tokyo confirmed 1,546 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, down by 38 from a week earlier, marking the 30th straight day of week-on-week decrease.
The seven-day average of new cases came to 1,613.7, compared to 2,031.7 a week before. The number of patients with severe symptoms, counted under Tokyo’s own criteria, was unchanged from Saturday at four. No deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported on Sunday.
