Tokyo confirmed 2,362 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, down by about 900 from a week before and marking the 18th straight day with a week-on-week decline.
The capital reported 1,344 new cases on Sunday, the first time the daily tally fell below 2,000 since Jan. 11.
