Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi on Wednesday pledged Tokyo's full support for Erywan Yusof, ASEAN's special envoy to Myanmar, to resolve the political crisis stemming from the Feb. 1 coup in the Southeast Asian country.

In a 30-minute teleconference with Erywan, Brunei's second foreign minister, Motegi expressed his strong wish that the envoy will be able to visit Myanmar at an early date, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
