NEW YORK – Former U.S. basketball star Dennis Rodman will be in Singapore during President Donald Trump’s summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un next week, the New York Post reported Tuesday.
Rodman, who has known Trump and Kim for years, will arrive in the country a day before the June 12 summit, the report said, quoting sources as saying “he could even play some sort of role in the negotiations.”
The NBA Hall of Famer was a cast member for two seasons on Trump’s pre-presidency “Celebrity Apprentice” reality TV show. He has also traveled to North Korea five times and met with Kim three times since 2013.
Darren Prince, Rodman’s representative, was quoted as saying no trip to Singapore has been confirmed but that he would be willing to go if his expertise were needed.
