Japanese makeup artist Kazuhiro Tsuji on Saturday shared a Make-up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild award with two colleagues in Los Angeles for their work on the film "Darkest Hour" about British wartime leader Winston Churchill.

Tsuji, David Malinowski and Lucy Sibbick, who transformed actor Gary Oldman into Churchill in the film, were honored in the category of best special make-up effects at the MUAHS Guild Awards ceremony.

The three have also been nominated for this year's Academy Award for best makeup and hairstyling. Oldman was nominated for best actor. The Academy Awards will be announced on March 4.

Tsuji and other makeup artists for the film won the British Academy Film Awards' makeup and hair section on Feb. 18.
