The Mitsubishi Regional Jet, Japan's first domestically produced passenger jet, will make its maiden flight Wednesday morning at Nagoya Airport, Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp. said.

Mitsubishi Aircraft, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., had said the first flight of the small passenger jet would take place between Monday and Friday. After taking weather and other factors into consideration, Wednesday was chosen.

The company did not announce an exact take-off time and said "the schedule may change depending on the condition of the aircraft and climate."

The maiden flight is scheduled to be broadcast live online.

Mitsubishi Aircraft had initially been arranging for a maiden flight in May but postponed it to review part of the plane's design. The flight was then arranged for late October but was postponed as the cockpit pedals needed more work.
