Defense Minister Gen Nakatani is likely to visit South Korea next week to attend an international aerospace and defense exhibition, a South Korean Defense Ministry official said Tuesday.
"Japan wants to hold defense ministers' talks with South Korea on the occasion of the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition," the official said, adding that the schedule is now being worked out.
Nakatani last met his South Korean counterpart, Han Min-koo, in May in Singapore on the fringes of an annual regional security forum. They agreed to continue a dialogue to improve strained relations.
