Tokyo prosecutors on Tuesday indicted a diplomat for setting fire to the Japanese Embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Shinya Yamada, a 30-year-old third secretary at the embassy, committed the arson to cover up his embezzlement of public funds worth ¥22 million, prosecutors said.
