Six major Internet firms plan to team up to offer videos and other online information about Net-based political campaigning to reach out to tech-savvy young voters when more modern rules come into play for the Upper House election in July.

The initiative marks the first collaboration between Yahoo Japan Corp., smartphone messaging firm Line Corp. and four other firms whose customers are largely young people, often referred to as the "Net generation."

The other firms are online social-networking service Twitter Japan, social game site operator Gree Inc., Dwango Co., which manages network entertainment content and systems, and Ustream Asia Inc., which provides online services.

In the first project, Dwango, known for its popular live streaming sites Niconico and Ustream, is offering a program introducing how political parties can campaign over the Internet.
