Yasushi Akimoto was one of six people who won an Annie Award on Saturday for music for the Disney movie “Wreck-It Ralph,” which was also named the best animated film for 2012.

Akimoto, creator of some of Japan’s top idol groups, including the AKB48 franchise, wrote Japanese lyrics to be sung by AKB48 when the film is shown in Japan starting March 23.

The five other winners for music were Henry Jackman, Skrillex, Adam Young, Matthew Thiessen and Jamie Houston.

Rich Moore was named best director for “Wreck-It Ralph,” in which a video game villain dreams of being a hero. Alan Tudyk won the Annie for voice acting, while Phil Johnston and Jennifer Lee won the screenplay award.

The Annies have been presented for achievements in animation by the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association, ASIFA-Hollywood since 1972.
