Trading house Mitsubishi Corp. said Tuesday it has agreed with Dutch energy company Eneco to jointly build and run a wind turbine-based power generation facility off the coast of the Netherlands.

Mitsubishi will acquire a 50 percent stake in the Luchterduinen wind farm, located 23 km off the city of Noordwijk. It will have a generating capacity of 130 megawatts from more than 40 wind turbines. The wind farm will start generating power in 2015.

The turbines will be installed in a 25-sq.-km offshore area, an area five times the size of Tokyo Disneyland.
