Industrial output in October scored a seasonally adjusted 1.6 percent rise from the previous month, revised downward from a preliminary 1.8 percent increase, the government said Friday.

It was the first rise in four months, supported by electronic parts, metal product and transportation machinery industries, said the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

The month's industrial production index came to 87.9 against the base of 100 for 2005. The index of industrial shipments was also revised downward to post a 0.1 percent fall against a preliminary drop of zero announced late last month.
