China Eastern Airlines will terminate a regular flight between Shanghai and Fukushima, a service suspended following the triple nuclear meltdowns in March 2011, the Fukushima Prefectural Government has reported.
In communicating the decision to discontinue the service, the Shanghai-based airline referred to strained diplomatic relations over the sovereignty of the Japan-controlled Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, prefectural officials said Wednesday.
