Komatsu Ltd. has agreed with Russia’s Far Eastern Federal University to help students acquire knowledge and skills in construction, mining and road machinery.

Under the deal, Komatsu will provide the university with small construction machinery and engines free of charge, and the company’s engineers will give lectures to Russian students, the company said.

The deal was signed by Komatsu Executive Vice President Yoshinori Komamura and university President Sergey Ivanets on Thursday.

The major construction machinery maker has a similar technical cooperation agreement with another Russian university, Pacific National University in Khabarovsk.
