Princess Mako, a granddaughter of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, will attend Scotland's University of Edinburgh as an exchange student from September to May, Imperial Household Agency said Friday.
The princess, 20, the oldest daughter of Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko, is currently studying at International Christian University in Tokyo. In Edinburgh, she will focus mainly on art research and will stay in a campus dormitory, to the agency said.
