South Korea expressed "deep regrets" Thursday over a rally in Tokyo the day before, attended by senior officials and lawmakers, that renewed Japan's claim to South Korean-controlled islets in the Sea of Japan.
"Dokdo is our territory and we are fully exercising territorial sovereignty over the islets," South Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman Cho Byung Jae said at a regular press briefing.
The islets are known as Takeshima in Japan.
