Gist of extra safety standards for reactor restarts

The following is the gist of safety standards the government finalized Friday for approving restarts for idled nuclear reactors.

Standard 1:

Steps have been taken to prevent a situation from worsening even in the event of complete power loss caused by an earthquake and tsunami, such as preparation of power-supply vehicles.

The plant operator has mapped out a plan to implement measures to further improve the safety of reactors.
