Mazda Motor Corp. is planning to cease manufacturing vehicles for businesses so it can concentrate its assets on producing environmentally friendly cars, industry sources said Saturday.

The carmaker plans to stop producing the Bongo pickup and minivan for corporate use in the second half of this decade at the earliest, as demand for the models has slowed, the sources said.

Mazda is expected to log its fourth straight net loss in the year ending March 31, and a withdrawal from corporate vehicle output is part of efforts to improve its performance, the sources said.
