Former Olympus Corp. President Michael C. Woodford met with Tokyo prosecutors Thursday to discuss the company's attempt to cover up investment losses, which came to light after the Briton publicly questioned the dubious advisory fees paid over the acquisition of a British medical equipment maker.

Woodford is scheduled to meet members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission after meeting with the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office.

"I'm looking forward to meeting the Tokyo prosecutor's office staff," Woodford said. But he declined further comment, saying, "That's private between myself and the prosecutor's office."
