The Yomiuri Giants said Friday they have fired club representative and general manager Hidetoshi Kiyotake for defaming the team and the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper group.
Kiyotake criticized group Chairman Tsuneo Watanabe, one of the most influential figures in Japanese baseball for many years, in a Nov. 11 press conference he called to discuss “a crucial issue on compliance.”
