HONOLULU – Some 300 people, including Japanese farmers, took to the streets of Honolulu on Saturday in protest against ongoing sessions of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum and talks on a free-trade framework on the sidelines.
The demonstration was organized by multiple civic groups including Occupy APEC, a group formed in solidarity with New York’s anti-social inequality Occupy Wall Street protesters. Other organizers included a group opposing moves toward a globalization in the world economy.
