FUKUOKA (Kyodo) Plenus Co., which runs takeout eateries as well as regular restaurants, will establish a joint venture in Singapore with a Thai chain to establish a presence in the city-state.

Plenus, based in the city of Fukuoka, said Monday it will set up the 50-50 joint venture capitalized at about ¥350 million on Friday with MK Restaurant Co.

Plenus, which operates the Hotto Motto takeout chain and Yayoiken restaurants, plans to open its first Yayoiken outlet in Singapore this year.
