The all-girl group AKB48’s single “Beginner” has sold more than 1 million copies since its October release, music information provider Oricon Inc. said.
It has been three years and five months since a single has reached 1 million sales in Japan. The last to reach that mark was “Sen-no kaze-ni natte” by tenor Masafumi Akikawa in August 2007, according to the company.
