Canon Inc. will restructure its video camera manufacturing system, including shifting production of a low-end model from Oita Prefecture to China, company officials said Wednesday.
The iVIS HF R21 video camera, due to be released in early February, will be manufactured at Canon’s plant in China’s southern province of Guangdong, the officials said.
The company has yet to decide when to start production in China.
Canon has so far produced video cameras exclusively in Japan.
