BEIJING (Kyodo) Honda Motor Co. said Thursday that its new car sales in China in 2010 jumped 12.2 percent on the year to a record 646,631 units.

Honda is set to launch in the first half of this year a new brand, Li Nian, in collaboration with Guangzhou Auto Group Corp. It aims to increase its dealerships in China to about 890 from about 810, and sell 730,000 vehicles in 2011.
