Sekisui House Ltd. has broadly agreed with the city government of Shenyang in Liaoning Province to build a factory there to make steel-framed houses and embark on the urban development business in China, Sekisui officials said Thursday.

Sekisui House intends to complete the factory possibly next spring, the officials said.

The company envisions building a total of 1,350 units of houses, hotels, condominiums, commercial facilities and other types of buildings by around 2014 in the city and its suburbs, they said.

Sekisui House estimates the urban development business in Shenyang at ¥90 billion.

The factory will have a monthly output capacity of 100 housing units, they said, adding the company is keen on supplying environmentally friendly homes capable of cutting down on energy costs.
