A one-week event started Monday at the Prince Park Tower Tokyo with luxury traditional Chinese dishes prepared by chefs from Beijing's Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

It is the first time that Chinese cooks from the guesthouse, which has an 800-year history, have demonstrated their culinary skills in Japan. They previously visited the United States and Singapore.

The menus include such items as sharks' fin and sea cucumber, with the taste of various Chinese regions. Three courses are available for both lunch and dinner, ranging in price from ¥10,000 to ¥29,000 for lunch, and ¥18,000 to ¥45,000 for dinner.
